Goji Berries

Ah yes, the Goji Berry.

Our little red friend from the east has been gaining much mainstream popularity these days and we thought it would be a fantastic place to begin our epic journey along the path to Superfood enlightenment.

Goji Berries (aka Lycii, Lycium, Wolfberry, Gou Qi Zi, Di Gu Pi, Matrimony Vine) have a long and rich history with written material dating back thousands of years. From the Taoist immortals of China to new age profiteers, many have claimed the Goji Berry to be among the top superstars of the Superfood world.

Are these claims legitimate?

Abso-friggin-lutely.

Senior Goji contains a nutrient profile that leaves you wondering why we weren't told as youngsters that we could not have dessert until we finished every last one on our plate.

Here's the breakdown:

  • 18 amino acids (meaning it's a complete protein - practically unheard of amongst fruits).
  • The highest known concentration of beta-carotene of any food.
  • 11 essential minerals and 22 trace minerals including potassium, calcium, iron, zinc, & selenium to name a few.
  • 6 essential vitamins including A, B2, & C.
  • An ORAC antioxidant value of 25,300 (Antioxidants & the ORAC scale will be discussed in detail in a later post). Compare this with the classic blueberry registering at 2,400 and you can see what we're talking about here.
Not to mention a Kirlian life force reading that looks like this:

Chinese physicians have been using Goji Berries in their herbal formulas for thousands of years to help treat and prevent a myriad of ailments such as opthalmic and vision disorders, hypertension, malaria, kidney disharmonies, blood deficiencies, bone density issues, fever, chills, cough, muscle and bone weakness, liver dysfunction, anxiety, and poor growth and development. The Goji Berry is considered to be by many modern day herbalist the most powerful and well rounded of all known herbs, and is often used concurrently in many diverse herbal formulas.

Longevity and the Goji Berry have a long standing friendship. Some of the longest lived people ever known have reportedly lived amongst and consumed vast amounts of Goji Berries as a staple food in their diets.

Modern science is in a frenzy to catch up in their knowledge and understanding of this ancient magical fruit, and many scientists are content in discrediting it's benefits until someone provides a stack of numbers to show them what they could know were they simply to put some in their mouths on a regular basis.

A key point to keep in mind; all the benefits described here are in reference to the raw fresh and dried Goji Berry Fruit. This information does not pertain to pasteurized juices or cooked berries, as these processes seriously degrade and alter the nutritional benefits contained therein.

Getting started with Goji Berries:

Buy, open, grab, eat!

Goji's also work great in smoothies. Try this on for size:
2-5 tablespoons of Goji Berries
1 pear, banana, equivalent amount of papaya, or other berries
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1 tablespoon of raw organic honey

2 tablespoons of raw hemp seeds
1 tablespoon of wheatgrass powder
1-3 cups (depending on desired thickness) of water, coconut water, tea, or juice

Blend to even consistency and enjoy!

Some top brands leading the way in the excellence of packaged Goji Berries:
Tibetan Authentic
Ron Teaguarden's
Sunfood
Natural Zing

I've been enjoying the health benefits of goji for quite some time, and find that even those who are opposed to the whole "hippy, health food thing," can't resist munching on these "magic berries." That's what I call them when the uninitiated ask what I'm eating.

Now then, I think we need a post to help us understand the Kirlian life force reading. Great illustraion there, but WTF is it?

Is the goji berry also known as "the miracle berry"? My friend grows them in her garden. You eat one and a minute later suck on a piece of lemon and the lemon tastes like lemonade. I ate a bunch of them a couple of weeks ago, and when I got up in the morning, everything still tasted sweet.

That's amazing! Eating a fresh Goji is something most people have yet to experience! And yes, they have been referred to as the miracle berry! Thanks!

Goji Berries... yes... I tried those too.for my health conditions, Those sweet, red berries seemed to help, but only during the time when I consumed them. I don't want to take a drug for the rest of my life, so why would I want to take a natural supplement everyday for the rest of my life (although Goji berries are very tasty and are highly nourishing). To me this was not a cure either (and I'm LOOKING for the CURE).
Up to that point, I hadn't found a cure. I felt like a young jumbled mess. I continued to have extreme pain, but continued on my path to healing. I started to focus on myself and not everyone else. When I was a young adult, I took on too much responsibility out of a sense of obligation. This was no longer healthy for me, so I resigned from all my projects and groups. Those days to come were the best [and worst] days. I took a lot of time off work, yet began to feel so extremely exhausted. Many health professionals "diagnosed" me with adrenal fatigue & Hiv,Prostate Cancer so my situation was annoying then I keep searching for permanent cure online that's when I came to know of Dr God hands whom god has bleesed with ancestral herbs gift to heal people with disease like .Cancers,Alzheimer's disease,HPV,Men & Women Infertility,Melanoma, Mesothelioma, Diabetes, Multiple myeloma, Parkinson's disease,Neuroendocrine tumors,Herpes, Hiv/Aids,Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma,, chronic diarrhea, COPD,Love spell, Hepatitis... so i make a purchase of his herbal medicines and I have being watching my health for 6 years now and I actually comfirmed that his herbal medicines are permamnent cure and I'm so happy that i came to know of his herbal healings. You can contact Dr God hands Email: doctorgodhands@gmail.com WhatsApp: +2349057214220. if you gone through exactly what I go through in terms of health conditions because really honest there is more to learn about natural herbs than medical drugs.
